Dr. Yu FU

Principal Investigator

Yu Fu grew up in China and completed his undergraduate studies at Nanjing University. He then earned a Master’s degree from the University of Hong Kong and a PhD in Neuroscience from Stony Brook University, where he conducted research under the mentorship of Prof. Josh Huang at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. He later joined the University of California, San Francisco, as a postdoctoral scholar with Prof. Michael Stryker. In 2014, he received the prestigious A*STAR Investigatorship, establishing his lab at A*STAR in 2015. His lab in Singapore was the first to identify the physiological role of the tuberal nucleus in feeding regulation and focused on investigating how the central nervous system regulates feeding and body weight. He has been awarded an EMBO Global Investigator, National Research Foundation (NRF) Investigator, and A*STAR Fellow.
